Barrett, Boddie Named SEC Player of the Week

Auburn, Ala.--Auburn's Rasheem Barrett and Whitney Boddie, both junior guards, have been named the men's and women's SEC Player of the Week.

Rasheem Barrett scored 25 points on 10-13 shooting from the field including 3-5 from beyond the three-point line in Auburn's 89-59 victory at Charleston Southern.

He also had four rebounds, four steals, two steals and a block as the Tigers improved to 3-1 on the season. Auburn's next game is against George Washington in Washington, D.C., in the BB&T Classic at 1:30 p.m. CST on Dec. 2.

Boddie was the MVP of the Buckeye Classic while leading the Tigers to a 70-37 victory over Winston-Salem State and another win over 15th-ranked Ohio State. She had 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists against the Buckeyes.

The win improved Nell Fortner's squad to 6-0. The next game is against UC-Riverside at 1 p.m. CST on Friday in the Arizona State Classic.
