"I feel very comfortable out there," Campbell said after his Tigers fell 30-23 to Florida in overtime, despite his best efforts to rally Auburn from a 23-7 third quarter deficit.
"I feel I am getting used to the offense. Basically, I am getting used to college football now that I have a good feeling of it that I have played enough games."
Campbell completed 5-7 passes for 95 yards and one touchdown and scored a pair of two-point conversions on keepers.
The overtime ended with the sophomore fighting to convert a fourth down and five play at the Gator 20 when the Florida secondary covered the pass route that was called on the play. "Florida did a good job. I tried my best to run it and stretch for a first down."
Campbell said having the chance to play in very loud Florida Field in a pressure situation should help him down the road. "I learned a lot from it," he said. He said the team can benefit from the experience of making a strong comeback. "We have to stay focused and work hard," he said.
Daniel Cobb said he is ready to "do what they say" on who will be starting at quarterback next week. "There is not really a vote," he said. "I will show up tomorrow and lace my cleats up whether I am one, two, five, eight or whatever. I am here to help this team win games in any way I can."
Tiger Ticket Notes: Carnell Williams is scheduled to have surgery on Monday for his broken fibula. He will be out 12 to 15 weeks and should be back in time for spring practice...Damon Duval said he is not real sure what happened on his 23-yard field goal that was blocked at the end of regulation. "I am going to have to watch the film," he said. "I know I hit the ball solid. I had my head down. I didn't think I kicked it low. When my head was coming up I heard the other thump. I knew something wasn't going right." Coach Tommy Tuberville said the kick was looked low from the sidelines...Commenting on the fake punt that failed late in the first half, Duval said, "If we got that one block taken care of we had a long way to run...Their guy made a good play, an athletic play, which is what he is supposed to do on defense."...Duval said he thought the Tigers "showed a lot of heart" by coming back to tie the game at 23-23. "For us to even have the opportunity, it says a lot for this team's character. We just have to work at getting better."...Linebacker Karlos Dansby said, "It is tough losing Carnell, but guys are just going to have to keep stepping up for us like Ronnie Brown did. This was a tough loss. It was real hard to lose like this, but we just didn't make it happen."
