Big Receiver Taking Official To Auburn

A football recruiting update features a prospect who plans to check out the Tigers this weekend.

Kennesaw, Ga.--Receiver Darvin Adams has been a frequent visitor to Auburn on the camp circuit whether as an individual or with his Harrison High teammates in passing camp. After taking a hard look at the Tigers and the University of Tennessee, Adams chose Auburn on Aug. 11.

Over the weekend, Adams, who is taking his only official visit, will be in Auburn with two family members. "I'll be getting there Friday with my mom and my dad," Adams says.

Adams was being recruited to Auburn by Will Muschamp, who has since left for the defensive coordinator at Texas. Wide receivers coach Greg Knox is now recruiting the 6-3, 185-pound Harrison High prospect.

Having been to Auburn as many times as he has, Adams is familiar with the athletics side of being a student-athlete and wants to find out more about the academics.

"I want to find out more stuff about my major and college," says Adams, who has worked in his official visit around his basketball schedule. "I think I'm going to go into something with coaching like sports management or sports communication."

Despite living down the road from where Auburn played its Chick-fil-A Bowl game against Clemson, Adams was out of state at the time of the game visiting relatives. Click here for Adams' comments on Auburn's new offense.
