Signing Day Decision For 4-Star DL

Defensive tackle prospect Marcel Dareus talks about a visit to Marshall over the weekend and gives the positives of each of his three favorites.

Birmingham, Ala.--With offers from all around the country, one of the top uncommitted defensive tackles, Huffman standout Marcel Dareus along with his brother Demerius Darius, took an official visit to Marshall over the weekend. While he says the visit was enjoyable, Marcel Darius says that it's still a three team race for his services.

"The visit went alright," Dareus tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "We had a good time. You can tell the city (Huntington, West Virginia) has a lot of pride in the school. It was just like the movie "We Are Marshall."

"We're going to announce our decisions on signing day," Dareus adds. "It's going to be at 10 a.m. at school. We're both choosing from Alabama, Auburn and North Carolina.

When asked to give the positives of each college on his remaining list, Dareus is quick to provide points on each school tha has them in the running to the very end.

On Alabama: "The thing I like about Alabama is just the program. I like the weight room and the dorm rooms are nice as well. The environment is very good and I like the players there. Perhaps the biggest thing is that it's close to home."

On Auburn: "I love Auburn because they feel more like a family with them and North Carolina more than any place I've been. The players all call each other a family or introduce themselves as brothers. That's real nice. I also like Coach Tub (Tommy Tuberville). He's a nice guy. Sen'Derrick Marks and A.C. are also real good guys. I have already kind of gelled with them."

On North Carolina: "I love their defensive line. They have Marvin Austin up there and he was the number one defensive lineman in the country. Coach (John) Blake and Coach (Butch Davis) both coached the defensive line as well. To have the head coach and assistant coach both defensive line coaches lets me know I'll get better if I go there."
