Auburn Signs Talented In-State DB

A report on Auburn's latest football signee is featured.

McCalla, Ala.--Marcus Jemison has officially added himself to the Auburn football signing class of 2008. He has filled out all the necessary forms to become an Auburn Tiger.

Jemison is ranked 94th among safeties this season and is a two-star prospect as rated by Scout.com. His talent allowed him to start at both quarterback and safety as well as various roles on special teams at McAdory High School, which had an undefeated regular season in 2007.

The last three seasons, the 6-2, 205-pound safety picked off 11 interceptions. He was recruited by Houston and Middle Tennessee as a quarterback, but the Tigers will use his services as a safety.

Jemison chose Auburn over offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Houston, Middle Tennessee and Mississippi State, while Arkansas and Clemson were in his final three late in the process. He will join a young defensive backfield which includes returning safeties Aairon Savage, Zac Etheridge and Mike McNeil.
