AU Signs Four-Star End

Andre Wadley of Hernando, Miss., has signed with the Tigers.

Hernando, Miss.--Defensive end Andre Wadley has signed his scholarship form and letter of intent and is officially an Auburn Tiger.

The 6-3, 265-pound defensive standout is rated a four-star recruit by and the No.22 defensive end prospect in the country. He played mostly middle linebacker in high school, but is expected to play with a hand on the ground on the collegiate level.

A strong defensive star for coach Anthony Jenkins' Hernando high school team, Wadley reports a 505-pound squat and a 4.8 second 40-yard dash. He collected All-State honors after his junior and senior years and has been named to the All-Metro team every year since his sophomore season. Wadley recorded 120 tackles and seven sacks in his senior year, improving his tackle total from 105 as a junior.

After losing three starters on the defensive line from the 2007 squad, Wadley may have a chance for immediate playing time in August. He chose the Tigers over Mississippi State and Tennessee.

Wadley is another versatile defender signing with the Tigers this year.
