Birmingham Defensive End Signs With Auburn

Cameron Henderson is one of better athletes in the state this year.

Irondale, Ala.--Cameron Henderson has signed a scholarship and faxed his letter of intent to become a student-athlete at Auburn. The 6-6, 215 Shades Valley High School standout will play defensive end for the Tigers, following a stellar high school career.

He was a two-sport star for the Mounties, playing defensive end in football and forward in basketball. As a junior, Henderson had 90 tackles and six quarterback sacks. His senior year, he recorded 90 tackles and 10 sacks, including a game against Clay-Chalkville in which he had 10 solo tackles, two assists and three sacks.

Henderson chose the Tigers over several other SEC schools including Ole Miss, Tennessee and Arkansas. He committed to Auburn on Aug. 5, but took official visits to Arkansas and Tennessee late in the recruiting process.

Henderson is known as a speed rusher with tremendous skill rushing the quarterback from his spot on the line. He is rated as the No. 33 defensive end prospect in the country.

Henderson has the frame to add weight if need be.
