Jamar Travis Visits SEC School

Jamar Travis, Scout.com 300 defensive tackle from Brewton-W.S. Neal, (Ala.), attended Alabama's Junior Day Saturday in Tuscaloosa. Travis talked about the visit to the Capstone.

"The visit to Alabama went great," said Jamar Travis. "The visit was just as I expected. It was my second visit, but the first time to meet coach [Nick] Saban. He was a real nice person. He was telling me about what the college has to offer, the academics and changes I would go through as a freshman."

"I got to meet all the coaches during my visit. I spoke to coach Lance Thompson a lot. We just talked about regular things. It wasn't anything in particular."

"The thing that really stands out to me about Alabama is their weight room and the facilities they have. What I like most of all about Alabama is the defense they run. They run the 3-4, and it gives me a chance to play nose guard. Another thing that gets my attention is their No.1 recruiting class."

Travis has been to the two in-state SEC schools, and they are the likely candidates battling for his signature on National Signing Day.

"Alabama and Auburn are at the top of the list," he said. "I don't have an overall favorite. Those have caught me the most. With Auburn I have people I know up there. I have been there a lot more times than Alabama. It feels just like family when I go there."

Travis has four offers which include Alabama, Auburn, Florida State and Georgia Tech.

"I don't have any other visits planned at this time," he explained. "I think I am going to wait it out a little bit and see all my options before I make a decision."
