Spring Training Cut Short for AU Lineman

An Auburn football has been sidelined by a spring training injury.

Auburn, Ala.--Depth on the defensive front has taken a hit with Jermarcus Ricks suffering a hand injury at Tuesday's Auburn football practice.

Auburn head football coach Tommy Tuberville says X-Rays showed a broken bone and the lineman will take about six weeks to heal.

"We could put a wrap on him and get him back out there, but that wouldn't be the best thing for him," Tuberville says.

Tuberville notes there are no plans to move a lineman from offense to defense to give the defensive line more depth. "We will just try to get through with the guys we have now," he says.

Auburn will practice on Thursday in its final workout prior to the university spring break. The Tigers will play their annual spring football game on March 29th at 1 p.m. at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
