Travis Visits Auburn Again

Jamar Travis has visited both Auburn and Alabama this spring and hopes to see other schools this summer.

Brewton, Ala.—Defensive tackle Jamar Travis of W.S. Neal High School has become a regular on the Auburn campus this spring and he checked out the Tigers for the third time last Saturday at A-Day.

"It went good," Travis explains. "I got to meet with Coach (Tommy) Tuberville. That's always nice. He was just telling me to keep my grades up and basically we just had a general conversation. We talk a lot.

"I also got to hang out with (Auburn commitment) Terrence Coleman," he adds.

Auburn wrapped up spring practice on Wednesday with a scrimmage at Jordan-Hare Stadium, its fourth scrimmage of the spring. Travis made it to the first scrimmage earlier in the spring, which was much better action-wise than A-Day.

"It was all right," he notes. "They didn't have all of the top D-linemen playing like I would have liked. The best part was meeting with all of the coaches.

"I spent the night with my brother–he lives in Auburn," Travis continues. "I saw him when I was there and watched a movie."

Travis visited Alabama on March 8th and has offers from both the Tigers and Crimson Tide as well as Georgia Tech and Florida State. "I think I have one from UAB but I'm not exactly sure," he adds.

Travis says he doesn't have any more visits currently lined up but plans to get on the road some more in the upcoming months. "As of right now I don't, but I plan to take a lot of visits this summer," Travis says. He has also been invited to a pair of camps.

"I have one on April 27th. It's in Auburn–the Scout/Under Armour camp. I got invited to a camp in Cedar Hill, Texas. It's some junior class camp or something like that. It's a long drive, but I'm going to try. It's May 9th and 10th."
