Coach Sees Progress With AU Quarterbacks

Tommy Tuberville talks about the Auburn football Tigers.

Auburn, Ala.--Auburn didn't finish spring drills with a clear leader as the No. 1 quarterback, but Auburn head football coach Tommy Tuberville says he saw progress at the position.

New offensive coordinator Tony Franklin, who is also coach of the QBs, says that Kodi Burns and Chris Todd will continue to compete for the No. 1 spot as the Tigers prepare for the 2008 season.

"Quarterbacks have to keep their concentration," Tuberville points out. "I thought Chis Todd, Neil Caudle, Kodi Burns and all the guys did a good job with their improvement.

"Tony Franklin and I visit every day about the quarterbacks and different players and we talked about quarterbacks. I thought the big thing that we talked about is we feel like Chris Todd and Kodi Burns can be the type of quarterback that can get us to Atlanta and win in Atlanta, which is very important."

Burns and Todd are officially listed as co-number one on the depth chart the Auburn coaches released on Wednesday.

Burns finished spring drills with his best peformance in a scrimmage three days after the spring game and the offense also moved the football with Todd on the field.
