"Auburn has offered me a scholarship as a running back," Jacobs tells Inside the Auburn Tigers. "I just talked to Coach (Eddie) Gran and he told me that he looked at my film and he was very impressed." Gran coaches running backs for Coach Tommy Tuberville's Tigers.
Jacobs, who also plays linebacker, notes that Auburn is recruiting him as a running back. He says he plans to visit the Auburn campus for a summer camp. "I will also be going to a camp at Georgia and a camp at Florida," he notes.
Despite missing two games as a junior due to an injury, he rushed for approximately 900 yards
"Recruiting is going pretty good," says Jacobs, who was one of the most impressive athletes at the Kennedy/CES Combine in January where he ran a 4.53 40-yard dash. "I am getting a lot of letters and I am talking to a lot of coaches."
In addition to Auburn, Georgia and Florida, Jacobs says he is hearing from a variety of other colleges and says he believes that Wake Forest and Central Florida may be close to offering scholarships.
Jacobs, who also plays left field on the Parkview High baseball team, is continuing to play that sport. "I just got done with (high school) baseball and it went pretty good," says Jacobs. "Now I am playing in a couple of showcases and am playing for Team Georgia this summer."
The nephew of former Auburn and NFL star Steve Wallace, Jacobs says he has told the former All-Pro about his offer from the Tigers. "I am going over to his house to talk about it next weekend," he says.
