Fairley Set To Announce Decision

Former Auburn signee and current junior college player Nick Fairley will make his college choice Saturday in his hometown of Mobile.

Mobile, Ala.--Junior college standout lineman Nick Fairley signed with the Auburn Tigers out of high school but failed to qualify. Will he choose the Tigers the second time around?

That is the big question that will be answered Saturday at 3 p.m. when Fairley makes his announcement at Williamson High School. A star tight end and defensive end at Williamson High, Fairley redshirted last year at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi and will have three years left to play when he arrives at a four-year school.

"Yes sir I'm announcing on Saturday," Fairley tells Inside the Auburn Tigers.

Now 6-4, 295 according to his coach at Copiah-Lincoln, Fairley will play defensive tackle this season in junior college and will likely be one of the top prospects in the country among the juco ranks in 2008. In addition to Auburn, Fairley was looking at schools from all over the country including Alabama, LSU, Florida, Florida State, West Virginia, Southern Miss and others.

A dominant all-around athlete at Williamson, Fairley recorded 90 tackles as a senior in football and earned an invitation to the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. He also averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds in basketball, earning a spot in the basketball all-star game as well.
