Fletcher, Morris Honored As All-Americans

A report on two outstanding Auburn baseball freshmen is featured.

Auburn, Ala.--Two Auburn players, Brian Fletcher and Hunter Morris, have been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Freshman All-America squad. The Tigers are the only program in the country to have more than one player selected to the first team.

Earlier this year, Morris, the SEC Freshman of the Year, was invited to the USA National Team Trials. On Monday it was announced that Fletcher has also been invited to try out.

Fletcher hit .324 with 10 homers, 17 doubles, three triples and 42 RBI and did a good job defensively in left field.

Morris, who had a strong performance defensively as a first baseman, led the Tigers with his .351 batting average and finished the season with 11 homers, 15 doubles, two triples and 49 RBI.

Hunter Morris was Auburn's most consistent hitter this past season.

Both players are on the roster for the Falmouth Commodores in the wooden bat Cape Cod League, which features top collegians from around the country.
