Auburn's Goodlett Honored

Auburn, Ala.--Dr. Michael Goodlett of Auburn Sports Medicine has been named 2008 SEC Team Physician of the Year.

The announcement came at the league's sports medicine conference.

Goodlett, who has been treating Auburn athletes for the past 16 years in all sports, handles their medical primary care needs. He works with specialists Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Lawrence Lemak, who also provide care for Auburn's athletes.

Goodlett is an affiliate professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Auburn. He sits on the Institutional Review Board for the use of Human Subjects in Research.

Goodlett graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Alabama with a bachelor of science in chemistry and earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile.

A native of Moulton, he completed his family medicine residency training at the University of Alabama-Birmingham/Baptist Memorial Hospital. He is a certified team physician with the American College of Sports Medicine and a charter member of the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine.

Goodlett is known on the AU campus for putting in long hours on the job providing care 12 months a year for all of Auburn's male and female athletes.
