Lowe Plans on Signing Day Decision

After a solid junior season, Texas Top 100 offensive lineman Stavion Lowe has witnessed major movement in his recruitment. He landed his first offer in February and now four months later, Lowe holds offers in the double digits. Sooners Illustrated caught up with Lowe while on a visit to an SEC school to bring you this update.

It seems as though Tennessee may be the last program that Brownwood (TX) offensive lineman Stavion Lowe will visit. And though he holds 21 offers and has yet to narrow them down, Lowe wants to just take things slow and go through the entire recruiting process.

Sooners Illustrated actually caught Lowe while he was on an unofficial visit to the Volunteers program.

"I haven't narrowed the schools down yet," Lowe, who has also traveled to LSU and Alabama this summer, said. "Right now I am at Tennessee. I just came along with a teammate of mine, but so far it is going good. I think Tennessee will be pretty much it for me and I don't think I will go anywhere else."

And while he holds double-digit offers, there is still a program out there that he has some interest in that has not extended an offer, Oklahoma.

But that has not eliminated the Sooners with the 6-foot-5, 295-pound Lowe.

"That is one of those big schools that I could go to during the season if I have the chance," Lowe said. "They (Oklahoma) are still in the running. It is one of those schools I am considering because it is a great school."

When it comes to communication, Lowe said that he and coach James Patton talk fairly regularly. And it seems that quite a few of the conversations have a similar main idea.

"He (Patton) reminds me about how they are a winning program and have championship seasons," Lowe said. "He said that they are losing a lot of linemen and wants me to continue thinking about OU."

And while Lowe does that, as of right now, all of the schools are on the same platform. He reiterated that a few times that there are no favorites and that he plans to make all five official visits.

So while the colleges evaluate, so is Lowe.

"I'm taking my time and evaluating schools while they are evaluating me," Lowe said. "I really enjoy the process, but sometimes it can get hectic. But I do plan to take all five official visits."

Now that he does not plan on attending any more camps this summer, it's back to Brownwood to take part in his high school's weight program.

As far as Lowe as a player, he described some of the qualities he feels he brings to the table. And he seems confident in his abilities.

"I feel like I am consistent and I contribute every play," Lowe said. "I'm a hard worker and a finisher who takes pride in his position on the field. I think that I am a pretty good ball player."
