South Carolina Prep Star Discusses Auburn

A recruiting report features comments from Damian Jeffery with highlight videos.

Columbia, S.C.--Damario Jeffery, a June camper at Auburn, was one of the more impressive prospects to visit the AU campus this summer and considering his high school accomplishments that isn't a surprise.

A 6-4, 211-pound safety and outside linebacker from Columbia High School, he made 109 tackles as a junior while intercepting five passes and blocking five punts. He also blocked a kick, forced four fumbles, caught 12 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns and ran the ball 10 times for 130 yards and three scores.

"I like the way the Auburn coaches coach," Jeffery says. "They are hands on. They like you to do things the right way. If you don't do it right, they are going to let you know about it."

A prospect who is being recruited as a safety by Auburn, Jeffery notes he worked with AU defensive backs coach Paul Rhoads when he camped at AU. Roads is also the defensive coordinator for the Tigers.

"The Auburn camp was great for me because I learned how to play better press-man (coverage) several other things," Jeffery says.

A player with more than two dozen scholarship offers, Jeffery has plenty of options. "I don't have a favorite now, but I have some that I am favoring," he says. "South Carolina, Auburn and Alabama are ones I like and I will have to wait and see because I plan to visit some more schools."
