A 6-2, 225-pounder with the athleticism to play defensive end or linebacker on the next level, Green says the interest has definitely picked up for him since the end of his junior year.
Green is also receiving interest from colleges such as Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Mississippi State and several other schools, but when asked to name a leader at this point Green says his recent trip to the Plains for a two-day camp put the Tigers at the top.
"Auburn is my favorite right now," he says. "I like the fact they offer what I want to study (physical therapy). When I came to the camp it was good. I liked it a lot. I got a chance to work with the coaches. That helped a lot. They helped me improve on some things."
Green says right now the only other camp he has planned is to Indiana coming up later in July. Other than that he adds his main focus is to improve before the 2008 season rolls around. Making the move from defensive tackle to linebacker as a senior, Green says he's been focusing on his footwork and speed this summer.
If he can improve his speed it would be very impressive considering he says his best 40-yard dash time is 4.6 seconds. He's also added a 43 second 300 intermediate hurdle time in track in the spring.
Those attributes have made him a wanted prospect and his status should continue to rise as he heads into his senior season. When that happens Green says it may be too late for many though as he hopes his decision will be in the books.
"I'm planning on making my decision right before school starts, right before my senior season," Green says. "That's what I'm thinking right now."
