Big Running Back Chooses Tigers

Auburn grabbed a commitment from a big Georgia running back on Monday. His comments on the Tigers and a game action video are featured.

Lilburn, Ga.--Tailback Brandon Jacobs of Parkview High School became Auburn's 18th commitment for the class of 2009 on Monday night.

"I talked Coach (Greg) Knox about 10 or 15 minutes ago and I told him," Jacobs tells Inside the Auburn Tigers. "I just like the coaching staff and how they have a good bond with the players. I knew I wanted to go to Auburn probably two or three days ago."

Jacobs is the nephew of former Auburn and San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Steve Wallace.

"It's close to home and I also have a family history and background with Auburn," Jacobs says. "It's a good school."

The 6-0, 237 bruiser also plays linebacker for Parkview, but he is being recruited as a running back at Auburn where he was a standout a two-day camp in mid-June. Wake Forest and UAB also offered and the Deamon Deacons are recruiting Jacobs for defense.

Jacobs, who also plays baseball at Parkview, ran a 4.53 40-yard dash at the Kennedy CES combine in the spring.

Jacobs adds that he will likely take official visits to other schools this fall.
