Big Lineman Visits Auburn; Talks Favorites

This big and talented lineman talks about his recent Auburn visit and when he plans to narrow his list.

Montgomery, Ala.--A massive defensive lineman who has offers from some of the top programs in the South took an unofficial visit to Auburn on Saturday to check out a camp on the Plains.

Brandon Moore from Carver High is a player who has continuously gained popularity among schools since signing day last February and he says it's still hectic as he heads into his senior year.

"I have been pretty busy trying to visit colleges and talk to coaches," Moore tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I have talked with coach (James) Willis and coaches from Alabama and Clemson. I'm just trying to stay busy. I'm trying to keep a small head about things, trying not to get too overblown by it. It's kind of hard when everyone is calling me and pushing me here and pushing me there. I'm trying to take it slow."

Brandon Moore is a massive lineman capable of playing either side of the ball in college.

While not working out in the camp, Moore was in Auburn to get a chance to spend some time talking to and watching the coaches in action at the camp. He notes it was also a good opportunity to see some of the other players from around the state and region and become familiar with them.

"It gives me a feel for the coaches," Moore says. "I get to see the campus. Auburn has a pretty good recruiting class right now and I knew a few of them were going to be there so I could check them out. It's just to see who else is out there besides people from Montgomery."

Up to 11 offers right now, the 6-6, 317 Moore has become a hot commodity on the recruiting circuit since he was an up and coming prospect offered by Auburn in early spring. Now he says he's preparing to cut his list down in the coming weeks as he gets ready for his senior season at Carver.

"I don't have a top group right now," Moore says. "I'll probably have a top group by the time school starts. I know Auburn is going to be in there, Alabama is going to be in there and then you have Clemson, Miami, Tennessee, all the big schools. It will be the top dogs of the SEC and the ACC. I'm trying to cut it down shortly so I can focus on my schoolwork and take care of that."

In addition to his recent visit to Auburn, Moore says he's taken the time to trip to a few more schools and has more planned before he narrows down his list. Taking a very mature approach to the recruiting process, Moore adds that he wants to see as many as his favorites before his summer is complete.

"I have been to Alabama, Auburn, Southern Miss and I'm still trying to go to Clemson," Moore says. "I'm also trying to go to Mississippi State. I was supposed to go there earlier this month but something came up. I want to go to Clemson as well because it's not that far."
