Destrehan Defensive Tackle Shines at Auburn

One of the most impressive campers at Auburn talks about his visit to the Plains and junior highlight game video is featured.

Destrehan, La.--Darrington Sentimore made the trip to Auburn to show his talents to Coach Tommy Tuberville's coaching staff. It would be safe to say the journey was time well spent.

The four-star defensive tackle from Destrehan High was one of the most impressive football players at the camp, regardless of position.

"The Auburn camp went well--very well," Sentimore tells Inside the Auburn Tigers.

All-State as a junior, he says he finished the season with 150 total tackles, including 16 sacks. Those kind of numbers certainly attract the attention of college coaches and Sentimore is no exception.

"I have 35 offers, or something like that," says Sentimore, who notes that one of those offers is from Auburn.

In addition to showing his skills to coaches, the session like the one at Auburn gives him a chance to brush up on his football skills.

"My pass rush is the best part of my game," says Sentimore, who says he weighed in at 6-2, 280 at the AU camp. "I am trying to get better against run blocks."

It's obvious that Sentimore knows his way around the weight room. He physically overpowers many of the players he lines up against. "I bench press 395 pounds," he notes.

Sentimore was a standout performer at AU's one-day Senior Camp.

In addition to being strong, he has quick feet, a skill he displayed at the Under Armour/ Combine in New Orleans in April where he was named to the All-Combine Team.

Sentimore labels himself as a "good student" who wants to major in business administration in college. The defensive tackle is playing it close to the vest when it comes to naming a favorite. "I don't know that yet," he says. "I am still trying to figure that out."
