Paladins Roaming to Jordan-Hare Stadium

Auburn, Ala.--An opponent Auburn hasn't played in football since Ralph "Shug" Jordan was the head coach will be on the Auburn football schedule in 2009.

Dr. Gary Clark, director of athletics at Furman, announced on Wednesday that the Paladins will travel to Jordan-Hare Stadium for a game vs. the Tigers on Nov. 7th, 2009. Furman plays in the Southern Conference.

The last time the teams met was in 1956 in Auburn with the Tigers coasting to a 41-0 victory. AU finished 7-3 that season, one year before winning the national title and going undefeated.

The Tigers beat Furman 52-0 in 1955 and in 1946, the first time the teams met in football, the Tigers prevailed 26-6.

Furman, which was 6-5 last season, has also scheduled SEC games for 2010 at South Carolina and 2011 at Florida.
