Sunday Football Practice Notes, Part II

Practice notes part two from Sunday afternoon are featured.

The Tigers went just under two hours for practice number two of the preseason. Temperatures were in the upper 80's, but the heat index was in the upper 90's because of the humidity. It rained in the Auburn area Sunday afternoon. All of the players were drenched in sweat coming off the field, but looked to be handling the heat okay.

Chris Todd had another sharp day throwing the ball. In 11 on 11 he hit Tim Hawthorne on a deep post down field. Hawthorne made a sliding grab between a pair of defensive backs to make the catch for a big gainer.

Kodi Burns had a few throws that were off. One he threw over the middle got tipped and landed in the hands of Zac Etheridge. Burns and Todd are splitting time with the ones.

Barrett Trotter threw one deep for Chris Slaughter, who was covered by Neiko Thorpe (formerly Neiko Lipscomb). It was a hair underthrown, but Slaughter went high in the air to take it away from the DB.

Freshman defensive back D'Antoine Hood saw a lot of time at second team corner. He had one of the managers in his ear most of the time making sure he knows his alignment and assigment.

Aairon Savage is adjusting back to corner just fine. Receivers had a tough time getting open on him in one on ones and in pass skelly.
