Part 3, Football Practice Notes and Video

Items of interest for Auburn football fans are featured in this practice report.

These notes are from Auburn's second Monday practice as the Tigers worked out in shorts, helmets and shoulder pads.

*Quindarius Carr has been solid this preseason. He made a nice touchdown catch in the 11 on 11 work in the corner of the end zone on a perfect pass from Kodi Burns, who had a good practice throwing the football. Carr had one of the more impressive plays of the scrimmage on Saturday, picking up a fumble on the bounce and turning a potential turnover into a big play for the offense.

*The offense worked on goal line situations, both getting off its own one-yard line and attacking the opponent's goal line on Monday evening.

*Cornerback Harry Adams wasn't back for the evening practice, but is expected back sometime later this week. Adams is in the mix to earn playing time behind starters Walt McFadden and Jerraud Powers, who have been solid throughout two-a-days.

*Jason Bosley is making progress with his back problem and could be back soon, Tommy Tuberville says. Bosley was working out at practice today with trainer Arnold Gamber.

Ryan Pugh (50) worked with the first team at center on Monday. He is shown snapping the football to quarterback Chris Todd.

*Linebacker coach James Willis says he is pleased with how freshman Spencer Pybus is playing and notes he has a chance to play this season. Willis says that Pybus is a guy he has liked going back to his visits to Auburn summer camps.

*Willis, a former NFL player himself, says that Tray Blackmon has the same type of ability as former Tigers he coached at Auburn as a graduate assistant who made it in the pros--Dontarrious Thomas and Karlos Dansby.

*Offensive line coach Hugh Nall says he has seen signs of improvement from backups Bart Eddins, who is playing guard and tackle, plus Andrew McCain, who is having his best preseason at tackle.
