Friday Evening Auburn Football Practice Notes

News and notes from Auburn's Friday football practice are featured.

Auburn, Ala.--The Tigers practiced for about an hour and a half on Friday evening in shorts and shoulder pads as the team prepares to take Saturday off and return to work on game week preparations on Sunday for the August 30th opener vs. Louisiana-Monroe.

Coach Tommy Tuberville said his Tigers worked an hour on kicking game situations and the rest of the time was spent on offensive and defensive drills against the scout teams with no contact allowed.

Also from Friday's practice:

*Auburn's young players will travel to Storybook Farms in Opelika on Saturday to visit with the kids there and spend time with them. Tuberville said it is always something the young guys appreciate and enjoy having the chance to do.

*Tuberville had the seniors as guests at his house on Thursday night and said it went well as he talked with them and listened to their suggestions on the team, young guys who may help, and he also got their input on pre-game meals, what they'll wear to games, etc.

*On the injury front, Tuberville said several guys will be questionable on their availability for the season opener against Louisiana-Monroe and the coaches and training staff will have a better idea on them Sunday. Although Tuberville didn't mention any players, several who are expected to be questionable include defensive end Jomarcus Savage (shoulder), offensive lineman Bart Eddins (shoulder) and running back Tristan Davis (leg).

*Two players who aren't a question mark are offensive lineman Chaz Ramsey and defensive lineman Andre Wadley. Neither are participating in practice and while Wadley is destined for a redshirt season, Tuberville said they have three weeks on Ramsey to decide what his fate will be in 2008. Right now Ramsey is rehabbing and resting his back and hasn't done any physical work in practice.
