Knight tells Inside the Auburn Tigers he has a scholarship offer to play tight end for Troy, but says Auburn is the college he really likes.
"I committed to Auburn and I am excited about it," says Knight, who notes that he plays tight end, offensive tackle and some outside linebacker for his high school team and that he is a three-year starter. "Auburn wants me as an offensive tackle."
Knight notes that his plan is to attend junior college for two seasons and spend one as a redshirt so he can sign with the Tigers to arrive on campus for the 2011 season with three years of eligibility.
"I would say my quickness and athletic ability are my strengths," the high school senior points out. "I run a 4.72 40 and I am 6-5 and 245 pounds. I am still growing."
Knight says his goal is to get to 265 pounds by next season. He adds that he still may continue to grow taller. "I don't think I am done with that yet," he notes.
Knight says he came to Auburn for a one-day camp in July and really enjoyed the experience. "I like the coaching staff and like the coaches," he notes. "I am coming to Auburn on Saturday to see the (Southern Miss at Auburn) game. It will be my first Auburn game to see in person."
Knight is not projected to qualify for freshman eligibility in college and is expected to attend a junior college for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. "I am going to junior college, but I don't know yet which one it will be," he says.
