Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville talks about what he saw on film following Saturday's 3-2 win over Mississippi State.

Players of the Week
Offense–Montez Billings
Defense–Tray Blackmon
Special Teams–Jerraud Powers
Scout Offense–Michael Gibson
Scout Defense–Wade Christopher

"Overall, we played pretty much an average game if you put everybody together–offense, defense and special teams," Tommy Tuberville said. "We get an A+ for winning."

Tommy Tuberville said that Chris Todd played "average" in his first road game. "He could play better."

Backup quarterback Kodi Burns did not play, but Tuberville said it was his call. "A lot of that had to do with me. We've got to find the right situations."

Tuberville was obviously not pleased with the penalties by the offensive line and the fumbling by the running backs. "We made too many mistakes. We had too many first and 15s and first and 20s.

"I like what we're doing (with offensive schemes). I think we've got to learn a little better, but you can't learn your way out of 1st and 15 or 1st and 20 no matter what you're doing. We had double the penalties that we normally have.

"It amazes me that we've fumbled the ball eight times in the last two games," Tuberville added. "We've got to coach harder and concentrate on it harder."

Brad Lester was carted off the field last night and taken to the hospital after landing on his head on a run. "He's walking around," Tuberville noted. "He's fine today, but those things scare you to death. I expect him to bounce back. He had a good game going and I just hate that it happened to him."
