"It was great," Robinson says. "The game was fun and exciting. The players were nice and cool. We talked about a lot of things. All the coaches were very informational. They gave me all the information I needed. I'm just happy I committed. I was ready to get it out of the way."
Hosted on his official visit by Auburn junior defensive end Antonio Coleman, Robinson says he made his decision known to a very excited Terry Price as he was preparing to leave Auburn and head back to Indiana.
"He was real excited," Robinson says. "He said that's what he's been waiting for. I knew it all along. The biggest thing is that I can come in and get some playing time right away. They've moved a tight end to defensive end. I can come in and help them."
Robinson lived in Enterprise and West Blocton, Ala., before moving to Indiana prior to his junior season. He narrowed his choices this summer to Auburn, Alabama and Georgia. Getting the chance to check out his first Auburn game in person Saturday night, Robinson says it was everything he expected.
"It was a new experience because it was my first official visit," Robinson says. "I didn't know what to expect. It was loud. I was having fun with my hosts and the Tigerettes were showing me around. It was fun. It was exciting. The outcome wasn't real great but other than that it was exciting."
Following the game Robinson had the chance to spend time with Coleman and talk football, life at Auburn and more. He notes that was a high point in the visit for him.
"He was real honest with me," Robinson says. "He told me everything straightforward. He said 'we can use you to come in here and give me some help'. I was really feeling what I was saying."
Checking in at 6-4, 230 pounds, Robinson turned heads at a Scout.com combine in Cincinnati with a 4.43 40-yard dash. He also camped at Auburn over the summer and is the 24th commitment for the Tigers. He is expected to play the strong side end at Auburn.
Robinson says at the moment he doesn't know if he'll take any more official visits but he notes he's a solid commitment to the Tigers.
