Four-Star LB Enjoys Auburn Visit

A high profile visitor from the Sunshine State talks about his trip to Auburn.

Wellington, Fla.--One of Florida's top defensive players took an official visit to Auburn for the Tennessee game and left saying the Tigers are definitely in the picture. Talented 6-2, 225 linebacker Jon Bostic, ranked as the number three weak side linebacker in the country by, was on campus to check out Tommy Tuberville's program and he notes he likes what he saw.

"They are definitely a school I'm interested in," Bostic says. "I like the way their defense played yesterday. I'm very comfortable with the linebacker coach (James) Willis.

"It was neat," he adds. "I don't think I've ever been in the State of Alabama before. I didn't really know what to expect. Everything I saw I liked."

Hosted by senior linebacker Merrill Johnson, Bostic says he had a good time meeting the players on the team as well as talking with the coaching staff. He adds that the coaches did a good job of talking with both he and his father who made the trip.

"They basically just answered general questions we would have had about the campus," Bostic says. "Also about different things like me graduating early. Really everything like that.

"It was a good chance to hang out with the players and see how the coaches really worked," he adds. "I was just kind of talking with the players because they are not going to tell you anything wrong. They'll tell you the truth about everything.

"The coaches can basically tell you anything. If different players tell you the same thing as the coaches then it means something."

With offers from schools all over the country, Bostic has his choice of just about any program he wants to attend. While the football will be important, he says perhaps the biggest thing he's looking for concerns academics.

"I haven't exactly set those dates yet," Bostic says of his other official visits. "I still have to check out some of them. I have to make sure some of the other schools have my major (physical therapy) and different things like that because some of the schools don't have my major at all."

Florida, Florida State, Miami, LSU, Tennessee and USC are just some of the schools Bostic is considering.
