SEC Honors Auburn's Davis

The Southeastern Conference has picked a Tiger as one of its football players of the week.

Auburn, Ala.--Senior Day for Tristan Davis turned out to be a memorable one as he opened Auburn's Homecoming victory with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown last Saturday. That play earned him the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week honor on Monday.

"The guys on the kicking team take a lot of pride in what they are doing," Davis says. "They did a great job of blocking the play."

The touchdown vs. Tennessee-Martin was the second kickoff return for a score this season for the senior running back. He is now averaging an SEC-best 30.9 yards per kickoff return, which is fourth nationally.

For his career Davis is averaging 27.6 yards per kickoff return, which is the best in Auburn history.

Davis and his Tigers return to action on Saturday with an 11:30 a.m. home game vs. the Georgia Bulldogs.
