Green To Play In Senior Bowl

Auburn, Ala.—Auburn senior left guard Tyronne Green has been selected to play in the 2009 Under Armour Senior Bowl.

Green, who accepted the invitation, is the only Auburn player selected to compete this year.

The Senior Bowl, which will be played on Jan. 24 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala., features many of the top senior players from around the country in a North versus South matchup. The game will be televised on the NFL Network at 6 p.m. CT.

"I feel blessed to have the opportunity to play with the elite players in college football, and can't wait to see what I can do," Green says. "I look forward to the whole week and I know a lot of people from my hometown plan on coming over to see me live and in person, so it should be fun."

Green attended nearby Woodham High School in Pensacola, Fla., and started his Auburn career as a defensive tackle. Moving over to offense prior to his sophomore season, Green started every game in 2007 and 2008 at left guard.
