Recruit Discusses Visit From Chizik

New Auburn head football coach Gene Chizik spent time with an Auburn verbal commitment.

Mobile, Ala.--Williamson High wide receiver LaVoyd James says his first meeting with new Auburn head football coach Gene Chizik went well.

Chizik made a stop at Williamson High School to meet with James, defensive lineman Terrence Coleman and Williamson head coach Bobby Parrish on Tuesday.

"We got to know each other," James says. "He seems like a good person. He talked to me about my grades, football and stuff like that. We talked for about 30 minutes."

James says that Chizik was happy to find out the receiver's "grades are good."

James notes that the coach didn't get specific about who would be on his new staff at Auburn. "He just told me that we were going to have some really good coaches," James states.

The receiver, who was slowed by an ankle injury during his senior season, says he is 100 percent healthy and plans to run the sprints in track this spring.

Commenting on the meeting with Chizik, the wideout says, "Overall it went well. I am committed to Auburn."
