One of the schools that has taken advantage of the in person visits has also offered a scholarship, but their offer comes with a twist.
"UAB has offered, but they want me to go to junior college for a year and play corner so I can get used to it," said Richards. "I play safety now, but I feel like I am pretty natural at corner."
An SEC school took a trip over to check in Richards a few days ago. It appears Cornelius is about to be evaluated by the SEC's newest head coach.
"Mississippi State came by and Coach Smith said he was interested in me and that he was going to take my highlight tape and get Coach Mullen to watch it and then get back with me," explained Richards. "He said he would let me know where I stand with them after they watch my tape."
Now that the football season has concluded, Cornelius has turned his attention towards the track season.
"I am getting ready to run track," said Richards. "I run the 100, 200 the 4 X 100 and long jump."
