Boulware will be special teams coordinator with the Tigeres.

"Auburn has a wealth of history and tradition and combined with the outstanding staff Coach Chizik has already put together with Gus Malzahn, Curtis Luper and James Willis. I can't wait to get started."
Chizik said, "I'm very familiar with Jay and we are extremely pleased to have him coming on board with us at Auburn. Jay has a great work ethic, a strong knowledge of special teams, and he is a very good recruiter. He is a welcomed addition to our staff that we are putting in place."
Boulware (pronounced bowl-ware) coached running backs the past two seasons at Iowa State under Chizik. Before that he was special teams coordinator and tight ends coach for two seasons at Utah.
Boulware coached running backs at Stanford in 2004. Prior to that he was at Arizona from 2001-2003 where he coached tight ends in 2001, running backs in 2002 and added the title as special teams coordinator his third season with the Wildcats.
From 1997-2000 he was an assistant at Northern Illinois. His first year there he coached tight ends and the next three seasons he was co-offensive line coach. He worked as a student assistant at the University of Texas in1994-95 and was a graduate assistant for the Longhorns in 1996. He played his college football for the Longhorns as an offensive lineman.
Among the players he recruited and coached were running back Michael "the Burner" Turner and another NFL player, offensive lineman Ryan Diem. He also coached Mike Bell at Arizona, who went on to play running back for the Denver Broncos.
