Farms Makes His Decision Final

Four-star offensive lineman Johnnie Farms (6-2, 305) gives a recruiting update.

Perry, Ga.—Offensive line prospect Johnnie Farms was scheduled to take an official visit to Auburn this weekend, but after meeting with North Carolina head coach Butch Davis on Monday he has decided to cancel.

"I'm not visiting Auburn," Farms proclaims. "I am firmly committed to the University of North Carolina."

Farms of Perry, Ga., High School, began considering Auburn again when Gene Chizik's new staff started recruiting him recently. However, Farms feels good about his decision to stay committed to the Tar Heels.

"(Davis) just told me all of the stuff I can do at North Carolina and what I can do to better myself for the future," Farms explains.

"I love North Carolina," he adds. "We've got a great recruiting class coming in this year. We're going to have a great offensive line next year and I can go in and start right away. We're going to be good for the next couple of years."

Farms took an official visit to Chapel Hill on Nov. 21 and does not anticipate taking any other visits.
