Washington Trying To Decide Between Two

Talented Demond Washington talks recruiting and what makes his decision so tough.

Tallassee, Ala.--Standout speedster Demond Washington has a tough choice to make. A commitment to Ole Miss early in the process, the Mississippi Gulf Coast running back/defensive back recently got an offer from Auburn and new coach Gene Chizik.

With the newfound interest from the Tigers, a team he grew up watching from 25 miles away, things began to get very interesting for Washington. With just over a week left until national signing day, he says that he's no closer to a final decision than he was when he left his official visit to Auburn last week.

"I haven't made my decision yet," Washington tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I'm probably going to base my decisions on how the meetings go this coming week. Hopefully I'll make it (decision) before signing day, but I really don't know yet."

Expected to host staff members from both Auburn and Ole Miss this week, Washington says he's have trouble trying to pick between two good programs and universities. Because of that this week's visits will be important to help him make a final decision.

"I have Ole Miss scheduled Thursday and I have Auburn scheduled Tuesday," Washington says. "I visited with both head coaches at home in the last week.

"I'm very happy with both teams right now," he adds. "I'm in the middle with both of them. I don't know which one to decide on. It will come down to whichever school I feel comfortable with and which one I can come in and be an immediate contributor. I don't want to go in and wait my turn. I want to go in and play right away."

After playing running back as a freshman and cornerback as a sophomore, Washington says that both schools have told him they want him with the ball in his hands when he gets in the SEC.

"Both of them have told me strictly offense and no defense," Washinton says. "It's just mainly offense."
