King Ready For Auburn Visit

Memphis, Tenn.—Greg King had hoped to take an official visit to Auburn last weekend, but is instead taking it this weekend.

All of his travel plans are arranged and he should be arriving on the Plains on Friday.

"I'm getting ready to go to Auburn," Greg King says. "I'm ready to take off in the morning. I'll make it there about 12 or 1 p.m. with my mom and my cousin."

King says that Tennessee and Texas Tech are currently his leaders, but Auburn could fit in at the top with a good visit.

"That's what I'm trying to find out when I get down there," he says of Auburn's standing. "Tennessee and Texas Tech are battling. I felt good at Tennessee, but I also do with Texas Tech. That's why they're battling. Now I'm trying to see where Auburn is going to fit in."

Asked what he looks to see at Auburn, King responds, "Just the environment and how comfortable I feel down there."

On Wednesday King got a visit from several of the Auburn coaches. "Just about all of them really," he notes. "Coach Trooper (Taylor), Coach Gene (Chizik) and Coach (Ted) Roof."

Even if Auburn shows King enough to be his leader, he says he's going to hold off on an announcement.

"It'll be on signing day," he says.
