Talented DB Takes In Auburn's Junior Day

Auburn High standout Pee Wee Cobb talks about his Saturday visit for junior day.

Auburn, Ala.--Auburn will be looking for help in the secondary for the 2010 class and one player to keep an eye on will be Auburn High cornerback Pee Wee Cobb.

A physical and fast player for Coach Tim Carter, Cobb took the short trip to the Auburn campus on Saturday for junior day and says he enjoyed seeing a side of Auburn he doesn't normally get to see.

"I saw a lot," the 6-0, 180 Cobb tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I saw some stuff I didn't know they had. The athletic complex is a very nice building. I liked the academic center for study halls. I learned they have a study person for every player on the team that comes in and needs help. I like that."

Familiar with the former Auburn coaching staff after taking several unofficial visits to watch the Tigers practice last fall, Cobb says he likes the new guys and in particular the coach that is recruiting his high school.

"I like the guys," Cobb says. "They are pretty nice, all of them. I like coach (Tommy) Thigpen. He's a pretty nice guy. I talked to them a whole lot on Saturday."

Currently waiting on an offer from the Tigers, Cobb recently got an offer from the Florida Gators and has several more colleges showing a lot of interest with UAB also offering. He says right now he's hoping to impress the Auburn staff enough to get the word.

"We didn't talk much about it," Cobb says. "I hope so. They want me to come to camp. Auburn is a pretty good team, plus I like Auburn. I grew up an Auburn fan."
