Barber Honored By AP

Auburn, Ala.--Senior forward Korvotney Barber has been named a second team All-SEC player by the Associated Press.

Last week Barber was named to the league's second team by the conference's coaches.

Barber heads into Wednesday's NIT game vs. UT-Martin with averages of 13.1 points per game and 9.8 rebounds. Both are team highs for the 22-11 Tigers.

In conference games, Barber averaged 12.8 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. In 12 games this season, Barber has finished with a double-double for points and rebounds.

"Vot has been a warrior for us, and he has played like an All-American," Auburn coach Jeff Lebo says. "He has been there all year for us and has been our team leader in points, rebounds, field goal percentage and blocks."

Barber says he is excited about Wednesday night's NIT game. "I thought we should have gotten into the NCAA Tournament, but we are happy to be in the NIT. I am not ready to quit playing basketball and the other seniors feel the same way."
