WR Prospect Showing Interest in Auburn

A 2010 prospect with multiple early offers comments on his interest in the Tigers.

East Brewton, Ala.--Speedy wide receiver Jeremy Nicholson, a junior at W.S. Neal High School, is a prospect to watch for the 2010 signee class.

Nicholson was in Auburn on Sunday to check out the Tigers, who are in the early stages of spring training.

"I liked the practice," the junior says. "I liked the intensity of the practice and I liked the coaches."

Nicholson made the trip to the Auburn practice along with his senior teammate, Jamar Travis, a defensive lineman who signed with Gene Chizik's Tigers in February.

"I like Auburn a lot, too," Nicholson says. Commenting on his favorites, he says, "Of the colleges who have offered me, it would probably be Southern Miss because I have visited there and I haven't visited any of the others."

Nicholson says his other early scholarship offers are from Troy, UAB and Memphis.

The 5-10, 170-pounder is on the track team at W.S. Neal, but is currently sidelined recovering from a groin pull he did while running on the 4x100 relay team.

As a student Nicholson says he is carrying a 3.2 grade point average and is looking for a college program with a good "family atmosphere."

After spring football practice is done he plans to hit the camp circuit.

"I plan to come to the Auburn camp and to the Ole Miss camp and I may go to some other out-of-state camps," he says.
