"I've already been to North Carolina State," McPhadden tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I have Auburn set up for Jan. 10, this weekend. Next weekend I have Maryland and the weekend after that I have Florida State."
Saying that he likes Auburn's coaching staff and the Tigers' offensive philosophy, the 6-6, 320-pound McPhadden says that he's looking forward to visiting Auburn for the first time this coming weekend. Being recruited for the Tigers by defensive tackle Coach Don Dunn, McPhadden is scheduled to arrive on the Plains Friday afternoon.
A dominating blocker at the point of attack because of his size and quickness, McPhadden is one of those rare high school players who could contribute immediately if needed on the offensive line. Saying his pass blocking is his strong suit at the moment, he notes that because of his 5.2 speed in the 40-yard dash he has the ability to play smaller and quicker players on the corner without a problem.
Tiger Ticket Extra: In addition to his duties at offensive tackle, McPhadden says he also saw some action at tight end and defensive tackle. With plans to run track this spring and throw both the shot put and discus, the big tackle will have a chance to show what a versatile athlete he is.
