Reed made the drive up from Louisiana with his friend, defensive lineman Damien Jacobs, and notes that he had a good visit.
"I had a great time and I got to meet a lot of people," he tells Inside the Auburn Tigers. "I got a lot of phone numbers from other guys who came. It was a really fun day."
Reed says Auburn is one of the colleges he is seriously considering, but adds, "I am going to visit a lot of camps and go to a lot of places before I narrow my schools down.
"I am looking for a place with great coaches, playing time, great fans and great academics," he says
Reed has a barrel full of offers after a big junior season for Thidodaux High School. He scored 21 touchdowns and earned All-State honors as he split time between receiver and quarterback. He totaled 1,784 yards as a junior.
Asked why he believes he is so popular with the college coaches, he says, "I guess it is because I am a competitor. Every time on go on the field I compete."
Asked what his favorite part of the Big Cat Weekend was, he said, "Everything was interesting to me. I liked the War Eagle and I was laughing at the big guys in some of the eating contests we had. That was a lot of fun. I enjoyed talking to a lot of players like Marcus Lattimore and Lache Seastrunk. Those are good guys.
"I talked to some of the guys who have already committed to Auburn and they told us why they picked Auburn," he adds.
He says his companion on the trip, Jacobs, had a good time, too. "Damien is one of the best defensive tackles in the area," the receiver points out. "He plays at our rival school.
