"We really enjoyed the visit," said his father Ernie Sims. "We have been there a lot. It was a great trip and Ernie can get on the field there early. Auburn has an outstanding vet school and one of the best Chaplaincy Programs. Ernie hopes to have it narrowed down to three schools after the Miami visit."
Ernie Sims has a rare combination of power and speed that makes him such a heavily recruited prospect. The 6-1, 225-pounder has sub 4.5 speed in the 40.
Sims, from North Florida Christian High School, will visit Miami (1-17) next weekend and Florida State (1-31). For now, Sims plans on making his decision on Signing Day. He is the nation's top rated linebacker prospect and one of the best running backs. As of now, Sims is leaning to play running back at the next level.
Tiger Ticket Extra: Auburn is recruiting Sims as both an offensive or defensive player...Junior linebacker Dontarrious Thomas served as player host for Sims. Sims and Auburn's other prospects in for official visits met with academic advisers, coaches and current football players throughout the weekend.
