A six-foot-one, 245-pounder from East Mississippi Community College, Hollis visited Ole Miss last weekend. He is scheduled to be in Auburn this weekend and has trips planned to Mississippi State and Georgia after that. Prior to Christmas he took a visit to LSU.
"I am very, very interested in Auburn," says Hollis, who was a four-year starter at Minor High in Adamsville, Ala.
When asked about his Ole Miss visit, he said, "I was just going to check them out--that's all. It was all right."
Hollis had close to 100 tackles as a sophomore and earned juco All-State honors for a second straight year and was named a junior college All-American.
Hollis plays middle linebacker in a 4-3, the same defense the Tigers use. Mark Brown, who was a senior last season, started at middle linebacker for Auburn this past season. Brown will be playing in the Senior Bowl in Mobile this month. The position requires good size, good speed, good strength and toughness. Hollis has all of that. He says his best 40-yard dash time is 4.5 and he bench presses 375 pounds.
The linebacker says that he is keeping an open mind going into his official visits and notes that he is interested in studying physical therapy at whichever college he attends.
