Living nearby to the Georgia Tech campus, Williams says he was already familiar with the Yellow Jackets, but the trip over gave him a chance to check them out a little closer.
"It went good," Williams says. "I was there with a couple of recruits and some former players and a few players on the team. It went pretty good."
With dozens of offers, the 6-4, 230 Williams says at the moment he's looking at the Yellow Jackets, both sets of Tigers, Gators and Seminoles as his top group. Having visited Auburn for a spring practice and junior day, Williams says there is plenty to like about Gene Chizik and his staff.
"Right now me and Coach (Tracy) Rocker have a good relationship," Williams says. "That's very good to have with a guy that could be my coach. I loved the atmosphere when I went down there and Coach Chizik is pretty straight up head coach."
Several defensive line prospects have talked about having Rocker as a recruiter and as a possible position coach because of what he accomplished in his playing days. Williams says that's important, but it's the off the field things that he appreciates about Rocker.
"It's real good to have a coach like that because he gives me advice for everything, not just Auburn," Williams says.
Unlike many prospects that have already made a decision, Williams says he plans to take his time and doesn't have a timetable set for when he'll make his choice.
