"I've taken a visit to Georgia and that's it," Shackleford tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I'm coming to Auburn this weekend. I like the coaches and everything at Auburn. They are real positive in the way they talk and they tell me I could come in and play as a freshman, but I'm committed to Georgia and I'm just going this weekend to make sure Georgia is the place for me before I make my final decision."
A two-way standout, Shackleford has received attention as both an offensive and defensive lineman from schools all over the South. With enough athleticism to be a four-year starter in basketball and average 16 points and over 10 rebounds a game as a junior, Shackleford says that which position he plays won't really make a difference.
"Auburn is recruiting me as a defensive lineman and Georgia is recruiting me as an offensive lineman," Shackleford notes. "I like defense better, but it doesn't really matter to me. Georgia told me they would give me a chance to play defense as well."
Shackleford says that he has a visit scheduled to Florida on Jan. 24, but he's not sure if that will happen or not after he visits Auburn.
Tiger Ticket Extra: Shackleford attends the same school as former Auburn linebacker Tavarreus Pounds and the two have known each other for several years.
