Neiron Ball Adds Auburn to Mix

Six-four, 210-pound defensive end prospect Neiron Ball visited Auburn on Saturday for the senior one-day camp and came away with high remarks.

Jackson, Ga.—Jackson High School four-star defensive end Neiron Ball visited Auburn this weekend and came away impressed. He had previous named Georgia and Florida as his leaders, but says the Tigers are in the mix after visiting the school for the first time.

"Auburn, Georgia and Florida—not in any order," he says of his favorites. "I'm looking for great academics, of course, and great team chemistry, which Auburn has.

"It went well. It went real well," he adds of his visit. "It wasn't what I expected, it was better than I thought. I viewed the campus. I thought the campus was going to be boring, but actually it was more exciting than boring. I met some of the guys and some of the coaches. The coaches are great.

"(It was) way better than I thought," Ball continues. "I wish I had come earlier so I could have had time to know these guys."

Asked what the best part of his visit was, Ball responds, "The way the coaches treated me. They've got great team chemistry. There's great chemistry between the players, me, the coaches, Coach (Ted) Roof and Coach (Tracy) Rocker, Coach (Gene) Chizik, all the guys."

Ball's older Brother, Neland Ball, is a sophomore defensive end at Georgia who was also recruited by Auburn.

"It came down to Auburn and Georgia, so he loved it (Auburn)," Neiron says.

Ball plans on visiting Auburn, Georgia and Florida before making a decision.

"(Georgia has) four defensive ends committed, but I'm going to give them one more visit to see what everything is looking like. That helps out Auburn and Florida.

"I'm going down to Florida for the Friday Night Lights camp this Friday," Ball continues. "It'll be my second trip (to Gainesville)."

Ball says the Clemson and Stanford are still in the mix behind the trio of SEC schools, and that he's planning on making a decision soon.

"I'd say it's going to be before my high school season," Ball notes.
