Lineman Enjoys Visit To See The Tigers

This football prospect is considering joining two of his former teammates at Auburn.

Ellenwood, Ga.--Big Shelton Bynum says he enjoyed his weekend in Auburn as he got to spend time with two former teammates and meet a lot of new people.

The 6-six-foot-four, 310-pound defensive tackle from Cedar Grove High School made his third official visit as he checked out Auburn over the weekend after earlier trips to North Carolina and Maryland.

"I really enjoyed myself," Bynum says. "I got to hang out with my old teammates, Marcus (offensive tackle Marcus McNeill) and J.P. (offensive guard Jonathan Palmer). They showed me around. I really like the campus, the other players, the life. I just enjoyed myself."

Bynum says he enjoyed watching the basketball game on Saturday as the Tigers defeated Alabama at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum. "That was exciting," he says. "I got to hang out with a lot of other players, going out to some clubs, sitting back at the dorm playing video games and just laughing with them. I got to meet a couple of the academic people."

One thing that Bynum, Palmer and McNeil have in common is that they are all very big linemen. "We have got another big lineman on our team this year that is going to Tulane who is about my size," he says. "We have a junior, who plays defensive end, who is about 6-2, 250. They just kind of run big at Cedar Grove."

Bynum says he is not certain when he will make his pick on a college. "I did have my mind made up I was going to have it made by Wednesday, but I am just going to have to do some more considering and make it as soon as possible. The visit to Auburn was real nice."
