Auburn, Ala.—Sophomore forward Brandon McGee has been dismissed from the Auburn men's basketball team for a violation of team rules.

McGee averaged 1.5 points and one rebound in 17 games as a freshman at Indiana in 2007-2008. He transferred to Auburn, sat out last season and was expected to compete for a starting spot for the 2009-2010.

McGee, 6-7, 220, is a 2007 graduate of Crane High School in Chicago where he averaged 21 points and 12 rebounds as a senior.

Auburn begins practice for the 2009-2010 season on October 16. The Tigers will also be without senior forward Francis Aihe, who has been put on a medical hardship redshirt. Aihe, who transferred to Auburn last season from junior college, was not expected to be in the playing rotation.
