At 5-10, 190 with 4.6 speed in the 40-yard dash, Fritz has been a dominant force for Linden so far in 2009. Helping his team to a perfect 6-0 record after defeating Maplesville 23-14 last Friday night, the junior running back has put up huge numbers as the Patriots have rolled over the competition.
Through six games Fritz has over 1,000 yards on the ground with 17 touchdowns.
Two weeks ago against Billingsley, busted loose for 202 yards and three more touchdowns in a 39-0 victory for the Patriots.
"The game went good, but we have to do even better," Fritz tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "The line has to block better and the backs have to run harder."
Running hard is not a problem for Fritz as he's constantly breaking tackles and finishing runs with power. He says that's just how he plays the game.
"I normally like to punish people, but I'm trying to get out of that some," Fritz notes. "I'm doing some dipping and dodging right now."
Not getting much interest to this point from schools, Fritz says there are several teams he's followed over the years. "I've kind of always liked Kentucky, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, most of the SEC schools."
Fritz has a connection to Auburn at the moment because of Delaine's commitment to the Tigers. He says that not only has it helped him to see how recruiting works, but Delaine's addition to the team has made everyone better.
"He brings that smoke," Fritz says. "He also helps me out because I used to go both ways. Now I'm able to concentrate on offense with him on defense."
